65Fen Music Series is a weekly concert series in Brooklyn dedicated to showcasing the best artists playing new music today. Concerts happen every Monday night at 65 Fenimore St, Brooklyn, NY. Doors open at 8:00, and music begins promptly at 8:30. There is a $10 suggested donation for the sets, all of which goes to the performers. 65Fen serves both drinks and food. See you on Monday~!

Patrick Breiner

Patrick Breiner is a saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and educator living in Brooklyn, NY. He’s kind of from Ohio, and kind of grew up in Baltimore, and kind of lived in Madison, WI for a little while. He plays in Battle Trance, Bing & Ruth, VAX, Very Feeling, How to Make a Mountain, Cave Horse, Zhirtz n Zkinz, Premoticon, and leads several projects including Vartan Mamigonian, Double Double, and a record label called Sulde which releases short runs of his music in hand-made packaging. __________________________________________________________________________
Caroline Davis

Mobile since her birth in Singapore, Caroline Davis now lives in Brooklyn, New York. She has shared musical moments with a diverse group of musicians, including Matt Wilson, Matt Mitchell, Ellis Marsalis, Bobby Broom, Greg Saunier, Dennis Carroll, Erin McKeown, and Billy Kaye. Her debut album, Live Work & Play, was featured on All About Jazz’s best releases, and she was named one of JazzTimes’ Best New Artists in the 2012 Expanded Critics’ Poll. Doors: Chicago Storylines, Caroline’s sophomore album, is an audio documentary that uniquely sets stories from Chicago’s jazz scene from the 80s and 90s alongside her original music. Aside from her own quartet, she collaborates with R&B indie band, Maitri, and has been a regular member of many outfits including Whirlpool, Fatbook, Deep Fayed, Paul Bedal Quintet, Orso, Chicago Jazz Orchestra, Caili O’Doherty Group, Dion Kerr Group, and Materials and Their Destiny. carolinedavis.org ____________________________________________________________________________
Michael Foster
Michael Foster is a Brooklyn based saxophonist, improvisor, and multi-instrumentalist working within the fields of free improvisation, composition (both graphic and notated), Jazz, noise, punk, and industrial music and video. After studying Music at Bard College with Marina Rosenfeld, Richard Teitelbaum, and Thurman Barker. Since moving to New York in 2012, Michael has maintained an active gig and touring schedule, playing with Weasel Walter, Steve Swell, Pascal Niggenkemper, Psychic TV, Chris Corsano, Spiritualized, Kid Millions, Sean Ali, Han Bennink, Marina Rosenfeld, and many others. Selected notable venues he’s performed at include Bowling Green State University (Ohio), BimHuis (NL), JACK (NYC), Jazzfestival Groningen (NL), Fabrica Braço de Prata (PT), Death By Audio (NYC), Webster Hall (NYC), XI20 (LT), Jazzclub Erfurt (DE), and many more. Current ensembles include: Foster-Michael Evans-Pascal Niggenkemper Trio, Andrew Barker Trio, Duo with Leila Bordreuil, GALM Quartet, While We Still Have Bodies, and Foster-Grollman-Bennett Trio. ____________________________________________________________________________
Adam Hopkins

Adam Hopkins is a bassist, composer, & educator born and raised in Baltimore, MD and currently living in Brooklyn, NY. In February 2009 Adam co-founded Out of Your Head, a collective of improvising musicians in Baltimore devoted to broadening the local creative music scene. In February 2012 he began a second chapter of OOYH in Brooklyn, and has curated curated over 200 performances for OOYH through 2014. He leads and contributes as a composer to a number of projects currently, which include Haverchuck, How To Make A Mountain, Party Pack ICE, BeeP HonK, and Lubbock, which is a 10-piece Baltimore-based ensemble he co-founded with Dave Ballou. As a sideman he is a bassist in Ideal Bread, Laila & Smitty, Patrick Breiner’s Double Double, Kate Gentile Trio, Danny Gouker’s Signal Problems, and anyone else who will allow him to stand on stage with their group. adamhopkinsbass.wordpress.com

Jake Henry

Toronto born trumpet player Jake Henry is an active performer, composer and improviser on Brooklyn’s young jazz and avant garde scenes. Jake holds a B.Mus. from McGill University in Montreal and an M.A. from the City College of New York CUNY in New York City, having studied primarily with Tony Malaby, John Patitucci, Ralph Alessi, Laurie Frink, Brian Sand, Bill Mahar, Chris McCann and Lorne Lofsky. He is also an alumni of Dave Douglas’ workshop in Jazz and Creative Music at the Banff Centre for the Performing Arts, having attended twice, in 2006 and 2010. Jake performs regularly in New York City and around the USA and Canada with his trio Sweet Talk, quartet LDQ, Henry/Ali Du-ah-oh!, the Dustin Carlson Quartet and various other ensembles, both improvised and composed. As a sideman, he has performed and recorded with award winning musicians across many disciplines. He is also an active curator, having curated several regular concert series in the past, such as Sounds and Sounds and Intuit. Josh Sinton

Josh Sinton is a Brooklyn-based creative musician. Known primarily as a baritone saxophone and bass clarinet practicioner, he also writes music and leads various ensembles. Currently he is the leader of the band Ideal Bread. He has also lent his talents to the Nate Wooley Quintet, Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society, Anthony Braxton’s Tricentric Orchestra, Karl Berger’s Improviser’s Orchestra and Andrew D’Angelo’s DNA Big Band. He has been a curator at Douglass Street Music Collective and continues to perform regularly in Brooklyn as well as Europe. joshsinton.com
